Changes Coming to TWC’s Texas Unemployment System Platform

News Update

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) announced that it will launch the new Texas Unemployment System (TxUS) by June 1, 2026. This system will replace the current platform used by employers and programs like the Fund to manage their obligations for paying unemployment benefits under the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act (TUCA). This is the first major system upgrade by TWC in many decades. The Fund is working with TWC to ensure a smooth transition for Unemployment Compensation members. Here is what you need to know to prepare.

What’s Changing

TxUS will replace TWC’s Unemployment Tax Services (UTS) and Unemployment Tax Registration (UTR) systems. The Fund uses these systems to submit quarterly wage reports and make benefit reimbursement payments on behalf of the Fund’s unemployment compensation risk-sharing program and its members.

[NOTE: The transition to TxUS does not impact the TWC Employer Benefits Services (EBS) platform, which employers use to manage individual unemployment claims.]

Next Steps

When TxUS goes live, all members will create a user ID and password for their TxUS accounts. During that process, members must electronically re-authorize the Fund to continue acting as their agent for unemployment account services and provide the following information:

  • TASB Risk Management Fund TWC Agent ID (Pending)
  • Last total/taxable wages filed with TWC

Stay Informed

TWC is providing information directly to employers, including members of the Fund’s Unemployment Compensation program, about next steps and required action items.

The Fund will provide regular updates about the transition and required actions, including when the TxUS launch date is announced. You can also stay up-to-date by monitoring TWC communications and regularly checking  TxUS announcements on the TWC website.
