Cyber Trends
This meeting of Risk Roundtable for Small Districts will share lessons learned from recent cyberattacks against schools.
Risk Roundtable for Small Districts
Managing emergencies, regulatory compliance, and other risks can be challenging for small districts operating under tight resource constraints. That’s why the Fund created the Risk Roundtable for Small Districts: a monthly, virtual forum where you connect with peers, share solutions, and grow stronger together.
February Topics
A ransomware attack struck a small, rural district during midterm exams last winter, halting critical operations like food services and forcing administrators to cancel classes. Stories like this are increasingly common, with 82% of schools experiencing a cyberattack in 2024, according to the 2025 CIS MS-ISAC K-12 Cybersecurity Report.
During our February meetup, we’ll share lessons learned from recent cyberattacks against schools. You will leave with one actionable step to improve your district’s cyber defenses.
You’ll also have time to share your experiences and learn from your peers representing small districts across Texas.
