Planning Ahead -Emergency Management & Severe Weather
This meeting of Risk Roundtable for Small Districts will focus on preparing for and responding to emergencies, including severe weather.
Risk Roundtable for Small Districts
Managing emergencies, regulatory compliance, and other risks can be challenging for small districts operating under tight resource constraints. That’s why the Fund created the Risk Roundtable for Small Districts: a monthly, virtual forum where you connect with peers, share solutions, and grow stronger together.
April Topics
Hail, hurricanes, tornados, flooding, and extreme heat have the potential to damage school facilities, disrupt education, and saddle Fund members with unbudgeted costs. Don't miss our spring storm preparedness meetup, when we will:
- Focus on updating district and campus emergency operations plans ahead of next school year
- Discuss how to coordinate with local emergency responders and agencies
- Identify severe weather preparedness best practices
You’ll also have time to share your experiences and learn from your peers representing small districts across Texas.
Speakers: TASB Risk Solutions Consultant Javier Cano and School Safety and Security Consultant Andy Michael will be joined by a National Weather Service representative.
