A tabletop exercise gives district leaders and community partners an opportunity to work through critical questions before an emergency.
An emergency operations plan establishes how the district intends to respond when an emergency occurs. However, even a well-written plan may leave unanswered questions about who will make decisions, how departments will coordinate, when outside agencies will assume command, and how information will be communicated.
A tabletop exercise gives district leaders and community partners an opportunity to work through those questions before an actual emergency.
