Tuesday, January 26, 2027
9-10 a.m.
Room 304B

A strong safety culture does more than protect people. It also helps districts protect limited financial resources, maintain workforce productivity, and reduce costly operational disruptions. That culture is shaped by the daily actions and decisions of employees at every level, from reporting a hazard and maintaining equipment to addressing concerns before they escalate.

This session will explore how leadership behaviors and management culture influence employee engagement, risk awareness, and financial stewardship. Participants will examine how clear expectations, proactive communication, shared accountability, and timely follow-through can help prevent incidents and protect district resources. Superintendents will leave with practical strategies for building employee ownership and strengthening a culture that supports safer operations, responsible resource management, and long-term district success.

Presenter: Cynthia Rocha, School Risk Management Consultant, Texas Risk Management Services
