Summit details

TASB Risk Management Services staff will kick off the event with an introduction to the broader property coverage market. Then, a panel of experts will provide a variety of perspectives on the following topics:

Understanding Roof Types

Not all roofs are created equally. We’ll show photo examples of roof types and panelists will discuss the pros and cons, the differences in required maintenance, hail ratings, and the life expectancy of each type.

Roof Planning and Buying

There’s more to buying a roof than picking a roof type. Panelists will explain the varied replacement options, roof long-range planning, how warranties work, and the important role of specifications.

Managing Roles and Responsibilities

Closing out the day, panelists will discuss the roles and responsibilities for each stakeholder involved in the process, including what falls in the member organization’s scope, and what vendors bring to the table. Lessons learned from member representatives will also be discussed.

  • Zachary Cain, Risk Manager, City of Allen (TML member organization)
  • Jim Filipowicz, Co-CEO, Cavalry Construction
