Managing Waste Streams in Schools and Community Colleges

Too often waste stream determination and overall management ends up the total responsibility of individuals further downstream than where the waste was originally produced. Without proper training and access to safety information and supplies, all staff that work with hazardous waste are at risk to serious injury. This session will define and provide examples of waste streams, discuss common problems associated with their handling, and best management practices for K-12 schools and institutions of higher education.
