Andra Self, past president of the Texas Association of School Boards, was appointed to the TASB Risk Management Fund Board in August 2017. She is a member of the Lufkin ISD School Board.
Andra recently retired as director of Clinical Services at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. She also previously worked as director of Rehabilitation Services and Laboratory Services for Memorial Health System of East Texas. She is also a member of the Lufkin Economic Development Board.
Andra is a graduate of Lufkin High School. She received a BSMT (ASCP) from the University of Houston and master degrees in Business Administration and Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches.
Her hobbies include tennis and zumba fitness, and she enjoys working with non-profit organizations to promote teen leadership and community service. Andra and her husband, Kenneth, have a daughter who is an educator in Dallas and a son who is pursuing a career as an x-ray technician.
