Filomena Leo

Leo was appointed to the Risk Management Fund Board in March 2005. She has served more than 20 years on the South Texas ISD board of trustees.
A member of the charter class of Leadership TASB and master trustee, Leo is active in the Texas Association of School Administrators and Texas American Supervision of Curriculum Development. She has experience as a teacher, special education director, principal, administrative assistant for student services, and executive assistant for human resources and student services. In addition, she has been a member of civic organizations such as the La Joya Lions Club, United Way, Hidalgo County Headstart Program, Palmer Drug Abuse Program, and Valley Alliance for Mentoring and Scholarship Opportunities.
Leo earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Pan American University. She retired as the Superintendent of Schools for La Joya ISD and briefly served as Interim Superintendent at Raymondville ISD in 2007.
