Loss Prevention Grants

Thank you to everyone who applied for a 2014 Fund Loss Prevention Grant. The online application is now closed. We will notify applicants of their status by early May.

Grant history and general information

Since 1998, a total of 2,451 Loss Prevention Grants valued at $6.24 million have been awarded to Fund members in the Workers' Compensation, Property, and Auto programs. The purpose of the grant program is to provide our members with opportunities to reduce losses and raise awareness of safety issues.

In past years, grant monies have been used to mitigate potential loss exposures through the purchase of personal protective equipment, mechanical lifting devices, fall protection equipment, funding defensive driving training and driver improvement courses, addressing fire protection and electrical safety initiatives, and obtaining facilities security equipment. Grants are awarded based on the quality of the written justification and the expected loss prevention outcomes.

“We want to thank TASB again for the opportunity to apply for the Loss Prevention Grants. Without these types of grants, small schools like ours would not be able to provide a safe and secure environment for our students, staff, and faculty.” - David Fisher, Lometa ISD

“We appreciate the TASB Risk Management Fund for the financial assistance that has enabled the school district to accomplish far more than it otherwise would have.” - Flo Velasquez, San Marcos CISD

“Wharton County Junior College would like to thank you for the grant that we were awarded to purchase equipment for our department. We [would] like to apply next year and hope we are awarded a grant to purchase more needed items. Thank you again.” - Mike Feyen, Wharton County Junior College
