As of September 1, 2014, all Fund Property and/or Liability members have Privacy & Information Security coverage at no additional cost. The Fund has partnered with Beazley, one of the world’s premier providers of data breach response services, to offer protection for members in the event of a data breach.

“We are proud to offer this important enhancement to the Fund’s coverage,” said Dubravka Romano, associate executive director, TASB Risk Management Services. “We want to ensure our members are prepared to address the perils associated with a data breach.”

According to Beazley, the two largest causes of breaches are hacking/malware attacks and loss or theft of personal devices. The Privacy & Information Security coverage provides the tools and resources necessary to resolve these issues, including access to a panel of breach response providers; $100,000 in defense and settlement costs for any third party privacy claims; and notification costs for up to 10,000 individuals affected by a breach, plus $100,000 for other breach response costs.

The Fund provides Privacy & Information Security Coverage to members of the Property and/or School Liability programs as a value added benefit at no additional cost. For more information about this coverage, visit the Fund’s Data Breach/Privacy coverage webpage.
