High Grades for the Alliance

The Alliance, a joint partnership network of five risk pools including the Fund, achieved high scores once again on the Texas Department of Insurance Workers’ Compensation Network Report Card. The report evaluated 17 medical networks on the basis of health care costs; utilization; satisfaction; access; return to work; and health outcomes. The Alliance, which was a top tier performer in all categories, provides better outcomes for Fund members, at a lower cost.

Some of the accolades the Alliance were recognized for this year include:

  • Lowest average medical cost for professional medical services
  • Highest physical functioning score
  • Third lowest overall average medical cost
  • Second lowest average medical cost for pharmacy claims
  • Highest percentage of employees in network who received care quickly

The Fund’s partnership with the Alliance helps ensure that workers receive timely medical care from qualified health care providers who share common goals – providing quality care, treating according to nationally recognized treatment guidelines, and returning injured employees to work.
