Paul McLarty joined the Fund Board in March 2017. He is the Deputy Superintendent of Business and Support Services at Clear Creek Independent School District, where he has worked for almost 14 years.
Paul received his BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University in 1979 and his MBA in Finance from the University of Houston in 1985.
He spent his first 16 years in the private industry, working for companies ranging from a Fortune 50 oil and gas exploration/production company, to a start-up joint venture firm building and operating waste-to-energy cogeneration plants in the Northeast United States. He began his public entity service in 1995 as the Budget Director for Galveston County, where he served as the County’s chief financial executive and chief of staff for the Commissioner’s Court.
In 2000, Paul began his school business career with Galveston ISD and has been a senior financial and operational executive for three school districts over the last 17 years.
Paul is a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO), the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), and the Government Financial Officers Association (GFOA).
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Patty, two sons, and three grandchildren.
