Compliance
Our DWC Representative stays current on all DWC Rules and the Workers' Compensation Act. Internal audits are conducted on a regular basis to ensure that claims are adjusted timely and properly, saving our members money in the long run! In turn, we use an intradepartmental approach where multiple employees work on various training projects to ensure our adjusters and members are always in compliance and understand their daily job responsibilities. Because the Fund provides an array of other programs and services, we are also able to work closely with TASB's HR Services and Policy Services Divisions as workers' compensation laws and procedures often are related to board policies and other employment laws.
Loss Prevention
An effective workers' compensation program should assist in preventing accidents before they happen. That's why the Fund works with each member to develop and implement effective accident prevention programs within our Loss Prevention Division.
Expert Claims Service
All claims adjusters are TASB employees and are specially trained in addressing the particular needs of Texas school districts and related organizations. Our adjusters work with our internal utilization review staff, including our Medical Director, to ensure proper medical management of claims. Our Claims Administration staff is also required to attend internal training sessions on current laws and rules to ensure compliance and keep claims costs down. Many of our adjusters also conduct their own Benefit Review Conferences throughout the state. Our claims managers and adjusters make many face to face visits with our members for service and training issues. Our adjusters are located in Austin, Dallas, Midland, Corpus Christi, Canton, Harlingen and McAllen.
