Texas school districts large and small have saved over $223 million since 1983 on unemployment compensation costs through the TASB Risk Management Fund. These savings are a direct result of the difference between the Fund's low cost and the high fluctuating tax rate that school districts and other political subdivisions, would otherwise have to pay the state. This is only one of the many reasons why almost 1000 members participate in this program.
