P/C Coverage Options: School Professional Legal Liability

School Professional Legal Liability (SPLL) coverage provides coverage for damages the member becomes legally obligated to pay due to acts, errors, and omissions rendered within the course and scope of employment. Coverage is on a claims-made basis.

SPLL coverage provides for damages and defense costs for allegations of student discipline, including corporal punishment; civil rights violations; sexual misconduct, harassment, abuse and molestation; non-pecuniary relief; employment related claims; and discrimination, including Americans with Disabilities Act claims.

  • Prior acts coverage is included with no retro date.
  • Discovery period coverage is available.
  • Covered Persons include the District, trustees, board members, employees, student teachers, and volunteers.
  • Coverage is extended to the District and all Covered Persons at any time they are acting within the course and scope of their employment at the District.
