Find Your Innovation Point
By Allison Kaminsky
“The innovation point is the pivotal moment when talented and motivated people seek the opportunity to act on their ideas and dreams." – W. Arthur Porter
“Innovation” seems to be the buzz word of the year. We hear about it from our employers and our colleagues, we ask for it from our employees and our students, it’s rampant in news headlines and in the blogosphere – everywhere we turn there is talk about how innovation will carry us into the future. It’s about being original, groundbreaking, and ahead of the times, but it’s nothing new to the TASB Risk Management Fund. For seven years now, the Fund has recognized members for their innovation and success in risk management, and next year will be no different. Applications are now being accepted for the Fund’s eighth annual Innovation Award. Up to ten members will be honored for their initiatives, products, or programs and will receive a plaque and $1,000 to apply toward their continued risk management efforts.
Where do I start?
First, identify your innovation point. You may already have a program, product, or initiative in mind, but if you need a little inspiration, meet last year’s winners and see what they did to win. Then, review the eligibility and selection criteria, now available on the Fund’s Web Site.
I’m Ready. How Can I Apply?
