Update on TASB RMF Board of Trustees July Meeting

The Fund’s Board of Trustees met on July 30, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas.  They heard reports from the Audit and Finance Committee, the Claims Committee, and the Member Services Committee.

The Audit and Finance Committee reported on the June 30, 2010, financial statements to the full board.  The Fund remains in a very strong financial position.  The Committee also gave an update on the Fund’s investment policy review and rewrite.

The Claims Committee presented an overview of significant Workers’ Compensation (WC) and Property/Liability (P/L) claims and reported on voluntary WC networks.

The Member Services Committee presented an update on funding and renewal activities for the year and sought approval of the stop-loss coverage for WC and the Liability lines of coverage, as well as alternatives for stop-loss coverage for WC ASO members.  The Committee also sought approval for member benefit programs for 2010-11 totaling $750,000 for the Loss Prevention Grant Program and Members’ Conference Coverage Credits. 

Dubravka Romano presented an update on the 2010-13 Fund Strategic plan.  The Board approved the following contracts and agreements:

  • Changes to the Fund Bylaws
  • 2010-11 TASB Administrative Fee
  • License Agreements with TASA and TASBO
  • TASB Sponsorship and License Agreement
  • Amendments to the Contract with Marsh USA
