The Fund's Board of Trustees met on February 6, 2009, at TASB headquarters in Austin. They heard reports from the Audit and Finance Committee, the Claims Committee, and the Member Services Committee.
[Workers' Compensation]
The Fund has some good news for Workers' Compensation program members. The Political Subdivision Workers' Compensation Alliance added more direct provider contracts effective 2/15/09.
A reduction in force (RIF) is the elimination of one or more job positions due to a financial exigency or program change. When a RIF occurs, job positions are eliminated and the employees currently holding those positions lose their jobs, even if they have done nothing wrong.
