What is the Alliance you ask? The Political Subdivision Workers’ Compensation Alliance (the “Alliance”) is the trade name for a group of five Texas intergovernmental risk pools (“Pools”) that have joined together to exercise the option to directly contract with health care providers for the provision of workers’ compensation medical benefits to the injured employees of the member Political Subdivisions of each Pool.

The Alliance is comprised of the following Pools:

The following areas were added to the Alliance effective 2/15/09:

  • Abilene
  • Corpus Christi
  • San Angelo
  • Nacogdoches
  • San Antonio
  • A portion of Llano

For injuries on and after this date, injured employees are required to choose a doctor from the treating doctor list provided by their employers. Members in the cities referenced above have been notified via e-mail and through their TASB sales and marketing contacts. For more information on the Alliance, including a roll out map of areas with direct contracts, go to the Fund Web Site or the Alliance Web Site
