Loss Prevention Training Courses
by Charles Hueter
Is anyone at your organization concerned with a coherent and effective way to respond to bus accidents? The next session of our Essentials of Bus Collision Investigation course might be right up your alley. This FREE training will be held in July and is open to members of the Workers’ Compensation program and/or members enrolled in property and/or auto coverage. Hosted at Azle ISD, the two-day class revolves around the basics of investigating school bus accidents and incorporates material developed by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Successful completion of the training will give you the tools to not only reduce the recurrence of bus accidents, but to critically analyze collision evidence at the scene to prepare for possible legal action. Topics include:
- The human factors in collisions
- Field measurements
- Interpreting skid marks
- Photographing the scene
If you are looking to expand your knowledge of accident investigations, safety training, and other aspects of a complete loss management program, the Loss Prevention Coordinator Course is for you. Held over 2½ days, it is designed to help you prevent losses before they occur by discussing topics such as:
- Accident prevention plans
- Exposure surveys
- Safety training exercises
- School safety and security audits
In addition, the course addresses how to approach the losses that do happen. Incident investigation training, utilizing both the TASB Risk Management Fund's online and other web-based information resources, return-to-work programs, and other topics will show time-tested ways to learn the most from your claims. This free course will be held in September in the Corpus Christi area and is open to all members enrolled in the Workers' Compensation, Property/Casualty, and/or Automobile coverage programs.
